You approve every email before it goes out. The price is fixed and the project takes two weeks.

What this project changes

Today, someone fills in your form and gets one reply. If they don’t act on that reply, nothing else reaches them, and there’s no record of whether they bought.

After the setup, a short series of emails follows each inquiry, with a way to order in each one. Anyone who orders stops getting emails. Every inquiry goes into one list with a note of whether it became a sale.

The days shown are an example. We set the timing for your business in week 1.

What you get

All of this is done within two weeks.

1. Follow-up emails

A short series of emails written for your business and switched on in the email tool you already use, such as Mailchimp, Kit or HubSpot.

2. One lead list

Every inquiry recorded in one place, with whether it became a sale, so you can see your inquiry-to-sale rate.

3. A next step on your website

A written list of changes so visitors can take the next step without waiting for a reply. It’s written for whoever manages your site.

4. CASL check

A check that the emails meet Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL). An inquiry lets you email someone for six months. The series stays inside that.

5. Handover call

A 30-minute call when the series is switched on, to walk through what was set up and how to read the list.

6. 60-day check-in

A 30-minute call 60 days later to compare your inquiry-to-sale rate with where you started.

How it works

Two weeks

Week 1. A 45-minute call about how inquiries come in, who answers them, and what customers ask before they buy. You send me your current reply email and your inquiry records. We write down your current inquiry-to-sale rate as the starting point.

Week 2. I write the emails, set up the list, and switch the series on. You approve the emails before anything goes out.

Who it's for

Businesses that get inquiries, quote requests or sample requests through a website form or email, and send one reply.

You’ll need:

  • An email tool such as Mailchimp, Kit or HubSpot. If you don’t have one, I’ll recommend one on the first call.
  • Someone on your team who answers inquiries.

$1,500 fixed

$500 to start and $1,000 when the series is switched on.

The call is to look at how your inquiries are handled now and whether this project fits.

What it doesn't include

  • Website design or build. You get the written list of changes.
  • Ads, social posts or blog content.
  • Calling your leads. If a phone call should be part of the follow-up, I’ll write down when and what to say. Your team makes the calls.
  • Emailing past inquiries older than six months. CASL doesn’t allow it without consent. A mail or phone round can be scoped separately.

WHO YOU'D BE WORKING WITH

I’m Garrett Hall. I spent 35 years running marketing departments, and I’m Professor of Marketing & Technology at Sheridan College. Digital Marketing Research is my consulting practice.

Book a call. We’ll look at how your inquiries are handled now and whether this project fits. If it does, you confirm by email and the first invoice goes out the same day.

QUESTIONS

I do. You approve every email before the series is switched on.

About two hours: the 45-minute first call, reviewing the emails, and the 30-minute handover call.

I’ll recommend one on the first call, based on how many inquiries you get and what you already use.

Under CASL, an inquiry lets you email someone for six months. Customers who bought in the last two years can be emailed as customers. Older inquiries need consent, or a mail or phone round instead. That’s scoped separately.

The series keeps running on its own. At the 60-day check-in we look at the numbers. If you want ongoing help after that, we can talk about monthly support. There’s no obligation.
