Garrett Hall | Professor of Digital Marketing | Researcher | Consultant

Garrett Hall is a Professor of Digital Marketing in the Sheridan Pilon School of Business, specializing in Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. He also serves as a Mentor-in-Residence at Sheridan’s EDGE entrepreneurship hub and a Faculty Advisor with ENACTUS Sheridan and Sheridan PSBMA.

Academic Background – Garrett holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Social Psychology & Statistics (1986) and an MBA focused on Direct Marketing and Entrepreneurship (1988), both from the University of Alberta.

Professional Experience – With over 35 years of business management and marketing experience, Garrett has held diverse positions in both entrepreneurial and large-enterprise organizations. 

His career highlights include:

1. Account Executive at Young and Rubicam (1988): Managed marketing for clients like Book-of-the-Month Club, IBM, AGO, and Maclean’s Magazine
2. Marketing Manager at Scholastic Canada (1992): Led a team of 10 in the $23+ million Book Clubs department, implementing marketing performance measurements and launching the Babysitters Club brand in Canada.
3. Owner of The Added Touch Group (1996-2009): Grew sales to $7.5 million and expanded the customer base to 835,000 contacts. Notably, he increased pure internet sales from $0 to $600,000 in just six months.
4. Consultant (2009 onwards): Assisted companies in market expansion, including helping Gardens Alive launch nine brands in Canada, generating over $25 million in sales.

Expertise and Achievements -Garrett’s extensive experience spans various areas, including strategic planning, digital marketing, e-commerce, and business development. His ability to integrate direct marketing principles with creative design and leverage digital platforms for business growth has been a hallmark of his career.

Throughout his professional journey, Garrett has demonstrated strong leadership skills, managing large teams and overseeing multiple aspects of business operations. His expertise in customer behavior analysis and response to promotions has been crucial in driving business success1.

Currently – As a professor at Sheridan College, Garrett continues to share his wealth of knowledge and real-world experience with the next generation of marketing professionals and entrepreneurs. Garrett is also involved in various research projects and private digital marketing consultancy. 

Sujinda Hwang-Leslie | Doctor of Creative Industries | Researcher | Consultant

Dr. Sujinda Hwang-Leslie is a Professor of Marketing in Sheridan Pilon School of Business. She  has been working as a creative director and a marketing director in the digital media and marketing fields since 1993. During that time, she bought one business and founded two start-ups.  

 Her first business, Applied MultiMedia (APMM), was a division of Applied Learning, an ASX listed company in Australia. She took part in the management buyout and became one of the four partners in the business. APMM offered training solutions to top tier companies in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore including ANZ, BHP, Coca-Cola Amatil, Telstra, Woolworth and Australia Post. It won several Masters of Multimedia, Real Estate Marketing Awards, and Australian Institute of Training and Development awards. 

 Her second business, a start-up called 1024 Design, started as a digital design agency and grew into a marketing firm, offering digital design and marketing consultancy services to mainly start-ups and small businesses. Sujinda worked with both B2B and B2C clients in Australia, UK and Thailand from various industries. Her top tier clients included Shell UK, Shell Thailand, Amcor and CDX. 

 Her third business, a start-up called 1024 Simulation, offering integrated big data solutions for transport simulation and analysis. Clients included Deutsche Bahn Engineering and Consulting in Germany, South Africa and UK, and SNC-Lavalin in Canada. 

 Currently, Sujinda is a Marketing Professor at the Business School, Sheridan College. She was part of the team to develop the Graduate Certificate Creative Industries Management Program, which was launched in Fall 2019. She also developed curriculums for two visual communication design courses, and co-developed six digital marketing courses and three micro-credential courses. In addition, she led the team to create integrated experiential learning platforms for students to practice the latest digital marketing technologies. 

 Sujinda received a Bachelor of Communication Arts (Motion Picture and Still Photography) from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand (1989), a Postgraduate Diploma in Design Studies from University of Technology Sydney, Australia (1992), and a Doctorate of Creative Industries from Queensland University of Technology, Australia (2009). Her thesis was an interdisciplinary study of Graphic Design and Marketing.  

 Sujinda is an Australian and Thai with Chinese and Burmese heritage. 

Shokran Salehi | Consultant | Fractional CMO | Founder of 100Nine Marketing

 

Shokran Salehi is a strategic marketing consultant and the founder of 100Nine Marketing, a firm dedicated to helping B2B businesses drive growth through data-backed strategy and authentic brand storytelling. His work is rooted in a deep understanding of B2B dynamics, with a focus on aligning marketing with business goals to drive measurable impact.

He also serves as a fractional Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for a range of B2B companies, providing executive-level marketing leadership without the need for a full-time position. This role has given him broad exposure to diverse industries, including architecture, planning, education, promotional merchandise, retail, and e-commerce. His expertise includes digital marketing, SEO, integrated campaigns, website development, paid campaigns and business models ranging from supporting small businesses in their early growth stages to advising larger organizations on complex, high-level marketing strategies.

His experience as a fractional CMO has equipped him with a unique ability to adapt quickly, identify core challenges, and implement scalable solutions that align with each company’s goals. Known for his collaborative approach, Shokran is passionate about building strong marketing foundations, leading cross-functional teams, and turning strategy into execution.

With over 8 years of experience, Shokran has consistently helped clients enhance operational efficiency, build stronger marketing foundations, and improve client engagement across the board. Known for his collaborative approach and hands-on leadership, he is committed to bridging the gap between strategy and execution.
